Alex Burak began working in recording studios in 1978. At this exciting and diverse period in musical history, he worked with many artists including:
The Thompson Twins Polystyrene The Slits
Together with producer engineer Alan o Duffy he oversaw the launch of a recording facility called the Point Recording studio. From a humble but funky 8 track, this facility, situated in Belgravia London, developed and was host to many 80s artists.
The point evolved into a respected 24 track recording studio and Alex was responsible for all technical aspects as well as engineering the mainstay of clients which include:

In 1984 Alex co produced and engineered "Doot Doot" a track by Freur later to become the band Underworld. Doot Doot reached no 1 in the Italian charts and has been hailed as a classic underground record worldwide. The track featured briefly in the movie Vanilla Sky

Alex also worked on film music for the film "Underworld". The film starred Larry lamb and was the inspiration for the bands new name. Other chart success includes "I Just Wanna" a single by Alton Edwards, which reached No 2 in the British charts in 1981. Alex became freelance in 1985 and worked internationally including the USA and Italy.

Recently Alex has been the Studio Manager at Westminster adult education service and is currently Technical Support Engineer/ Lecturer at Alchemea college of Audio engineering.
2002 collaborated with French composer Daniel Biry and Performance artist / poet Andre Stitt writing producing and engineering “East poppyfields. The record has been released by Dogfingers recordings San Antonio Texas and also in Poland
2002 working on a dance remix of "La Bamba" with Miles Guerinni . Miles has just completed a west end run of the show "Buddy"
2004 Plays bass guitar on Kings of tommorow 6PM (Defected records) selected by Pete Tong for his essential selection 8th October 2004.
2004 An early blues recording of the late Jimmy witherspoon engineered by Alex at the Point recording studio, is remastered for SACD. http://www.highfidelityreviews.com/news/news.asp?newsnumber=17093522
The session was recorded live and the straight to stereo mix was used as the vinyl master. The SACD release was remixed from multitrack tapes run during the original session: Producer John Stedman quips “The quality we found on those nearly 25 years old multi tracks was superb!”
Alex has a vast range of knowledge and experience in all areas of Studio Technology Logic (Apple certified logic 8 trainer), Pro Tools, Cubase Alex can also offer advice from installation of a patch bay to a Mac disk crash.
